Summer Interns Start a CSA Program

Interns in the Summer Youth Employment Program with Project EAT have been hard at work at the Tennyson High School Farm.  This week they were able to share the fruits of their labor with local families participating in the Meals of Love program at Bridge of Faith Church.  In addition to gaining valuable experience in urban farming, interns flexed their marketing muscles and stretched their community outreach skills to recruit families to participate in a pilot CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) project.  On harvest day, they washed, bundled, and distributed fresh fruits and vegetables for 10 families. Included with the produce was a newsletter they created with information about Project EAT, crops grown on the farm, and some tips for using a few of the items in the box.
