YPAR Students in a Civic Engagement Panel

Two YPAR students from Hayward High School, Danae Griffin and Ana Perez, were asked to participate in a panel discussion about civic engagement in public education. This is the second year these students have participated in YPAR so they were able to talk about how youth-led participatory action research has changed themselves, their peers and their school. These students are researching what healthy food options other students want to see in their cafeteria, and in the process have discovered so much more about their community. They were so articulate that they were interviewed for a follow-up video.
