In the youth employment program, interns ages 14-17 years old gain valuable job readiness skills and experience through their work in the community. During the summer, the youth interns maintain the Tennyson High School Farm, pilot a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, and lead cooking demonstrations for the community. During the school year, interns are placed at various sites in the surrounding communities.
Examples of work sites include:
- Boys & Girls Club
- Youth Enrichment Program in the Hayward Unified School District
- East Bay SPCA
- Sunnyside Organic Seedlings Farm
- Health Unlimited
- Spiral Gardens
- Merritt College
- and more!
Interested youth may fill out an application and email it or fax it to 510-670-3544.
